PLOT SYNOPSIS

Following a heated argument, a young couple splits apart as he storms out and she retreats to bed. The distance between them is suddenly made irrelevant when a tornado tears through the sky.

Spotting the twister from the road, he races back to find her sleeping through his calls. With time running out, he breaks down the door to reach her just as the storm hits. Sheltering in the basement as the house rattles and the lights flicker, the two are forced to close the space between them.

This is a story of how life can change in an instant and how sometimes it takes a disaster to remember what truly matters.

DIRECTOR’S VISION

The band requested an emotionally intense film with a visual scale that matched the weight of their track. The possibilities were endless.

Tornadoes have always fascinated and unsettled me because of their unstoppable force. This project offered the perfect opportunity to explore that power through a human story: a couple mid-argument forced to set aside their differences to survive.

I storyboarded a narrative that plays out across two distinct atmospheres: the intimate home interior where the emotional tension builds and the wide open country roads where the storm closes in.

I have always loved filming car scenes and this project allowed me to push that passion further. As the lead vehicle sped through county roads, I followed closely in a camera car to capture the high-speed sequence with a kinetic energy that contrasts the quiet intensity of the house.

The film escalates through grounded performances and cinematic VFX as the tornado looms closer in every frame. For the climax, the entire crew physically shook the set to send debris flying and turn a small room into a storm-rattled shelter. The experience was chaotic and exhausting but the result was worth every second of effort.

The band’s performance was shot in a single striking location beneath a lone tree with storm clouds raging in the distance. Much like the couple in the story, they are fully exposed and vulnerable to the elements both emotionally and physically.
